ISP Channel and NPG Ink Arizona Deal
November 5, 2008 nnyq.com editSoftNet said the agreement with News Press Gazette (NPG) extends its arrangement signed earlier this year for the 25,000 homes in News Press' Lake Havasau cable system to now include the company's seven other Arizona systems.
Financial specifics were not disclosed.
"We are very pleased with the success of the Lake Havasau launch and we are now ready to move aggressively to extend ISP Channel service to all of our systems," said Jeff Adler, regional vice president of NPG.
According to SoftNet, commercial roll-out to the remaining seven systems will take place within the next 12 months. ISP Channel will deploy a network clustering strategy for these NPG systems designed to offer advanced communication services from a centralized location.
SoftNet said this is the third top cable operator agreement it signed in the past four months, reaffirming ISP Channel as the premiere provider of high-speed Internet access to such cable operators. ISP Channel has agreements with Galaxy Cablevision in Oxford, MO; and Northland Communications of Seattle.
Separately, SoftNet announced the appointment of Ben Reichmuth, a 20-year veteran of the cable and telecommunications industry, to the new position of vice president of MSO Services for ISP Channel.
Reichmuth will be responsible for quality control and service implementation of ISP Channel offerings to its affiliated MSO partners.
