Using these tools, ISPs can offer solutions such as electronic commerce, business application hosting, and streaming multimedia for commercial Web sites and enterprise customers.
Microsoft said customer interest in these products is high; according to a recent study by ZD Market Intelligence, 54% of Web servers currently operate on Windows NT Server.
Other Microsoft sessions at the show include a Windows NT 5.0 preview, Remote Management in a Windows NT Server-Based Data Center, Building and Deploying Virtual Private Networks, and Hosting Applications on Windows NT Server and MCIS 2.0.
"We are excited by the rapid adoption of Windows NT Server by Internet service providers," said Mike Nash, director of marketing for Windows NT Server at Microsoft. "By working together with ISPs to meet the needs of commercial Internet sites and enterprise customers, we are bringing the Windows phenomena to new industries and creating tremendous new business opportunities."
