Ameritrade Offers Free Internet Access

Through its relationship with 1stUp.com, Ameritrade is able to offer its over 1 million customers unlimited Internet access, voicemail, 100 megabytes of online storage and 24-hour customer support services for free.
Jack McDonnell, Ameritrade president, said its free Internet access is an appealing deal for Ameritrade users.
"Ameritrade is driven to provide our customers with the best tools available to make their on-line investing experience productive and enjoyable," McDonnell said. "1stUp provides an excellent Internet access solution and we are pleased to join forces with them in providing our customers with this opportunity to receive free access."
Ameritade users that access the free Internet service must keep Ameritrade's navigation bar on their screens at all times. The navigation bar presents users with interactive advertisements as well as convenient links back to Ameritrade's Web site.
Charles Katz, 1stUp.com president and chief executive officer, said the deal marks the largest free Internet access offering to the financial services community in the U.S.
"Ameritrade is already a leading provider of online brokerage services and now its customers have access to a free Internet service with a complete suite of features, as well as outstanding content and financial services through Ameritrade's Web interface," Katz said.
The 1stUp.com network is capable of delivering free Internet access to more than 95 percent of North America.
