Every year hundreds, if not thousands, of couples flock to Las Vegas to exchange vows in the numerous wedding chapels lining the Las Vegas Strip.
Las Vegas has not always enjoyed such an intimate relationship with weddings and marriage; however, once the idea caught on both famous and rather ordinary couples have chosen to begin their lives together in Las Vegas. Since the King of Rock and roll elected to marry his sweetheart in Las Vegas, many others began to follow his path. Wedding chapels, once almost a rarity in Las Vegas, began to spring up all over the city. Today it’s almost impossible to think of Las Vegas without also thinking of weddings and wedding chapels. The wedding chapel industry in Las Vegas runs the gamut; from quickie drive through express chapels to very elegant and spacious suites designed to accommodate both the marriage ceremony and a post wedding reception.
At one time, most if not all of the weddings performed in Las Vegas wedding chapels were the result of elopements; however, today Las Vegas is becoming a popular destination wedding location. Couples from all over are arriving in Las Vegas to exchange vows and bringing their friends and relatives with them to witness the happy moment. As a result, wedding chapels have found it necessary to expand and offer a variety of services to accommodate the desires of the couples they wed. Most wedding chapels in Las Vegas today now offer a wide variety of wedding packages to suit every taste and budget. Couples can choose to include flowers, music, decoration, the wedding cake, photography/videography services and even their wedding day attire in their wedding packages; if they wish. Most Las Vegas wedding packages also include limousine service of some type.
The least expensive Las Vegas wedding packages usually begin at around $50 and include limousine transportation to the Clark County courthouse so that they couple may obtain their wedding license. Some packages may also include the officiant’s fee; although this may vary from one package to the next. Some of the more expensive Las Vegas wedding packages can cost several thousand dollars and include everything from food and champagne to customized floral services.
Those couples who may be interested in something more unique and adventurous for their wedding ceremony may consider taking a helicopter flight to the floor of the Grand Canyon, where they can be wed against the backdrop of the famous red cliffs at sunset and then sip champagne before taking a flight back to Las Vegas with a return limousine ride to their honeymoon hotel suite.
Wedding chapels on the Strip aren’t the only ones getting into the wedding business in Las Vegas. Many of the Casinos and Resort Hotels are also now providing wedding services. A large number of them offer packages in combination with honeymoon suite arrangements as well as dinner and show excursions.
While weddings in Las Vegas have become much more sophisticated and elegant over the years, the infamous Vegas weddings still exist, complete with a singing Elvis to perform the ceremony and plenty of glitz and lights.
With so many options to choose from, couples who choose Las Vegas as the location to begin their lives together can be sure that their wedding will be anything but ordinary.
