Systinet, a Cambridge, Mass., provider of Web Services infrastructure software, has named Anne Thomas Manes, a Sun Microsystems vet, as CTO.

Manes was director of market innovation at Sun, where she pioneered strategies for applying emerging software technologies to solve business problems. Before Sun, she was a senior analyst with Patricia Seybold Group, where she was editor-in-chief of the "Distributed Computing Monitor" newsletter.
